A review of Black Sacred music periods of development and dominance from 1619 through the 2000's will be reviewed as the roots of Gospel music from Africa through American slavery and beyond is featured.  This includes the African American Spirituals (American Fruit with African Roots), Black meter music, hymns of Improvisation leading to Gospel music, including historic, modern and contemporary.
